What is the new release for?
The new National Student Clearinghouse update will utilize a new API technology. The deverus team have created a new connection to use the new NSC API.
*NOTE* In order for searches to utilize this new NSC service, the subject SSN OR DOB must be provided. If an education for graduation verification is ordered, the search will be routed to the default researcher if SSN or DOB is not provided. Either SSN or DOB is required for graduation verification requests to use the new NSC service.
Why is there a new version?
The new National Student Clearinghouse API will process Education Verification searches the same as before but will use a better managed technology than what they previously had available. The previous technology uses an XML based API, while the new version uses a more friendly JSON based API. Benefits include:
Faster Processing Times - Verifications that used to take 20-25 minutes may now take only minutes to complete.
More Robust Queueing - The new technology used to connect to the new NSC endpoint boasts better queueing processing for large volume orders.
Increased Completion Percentage - The new technology used to connect to NSC will reduce search completion errors.
How do I use it?
The new National Student Clearinghouse API should not impact any UI ( user interface ) actions of ordering or viewing an education verification search.
When will it be released?
The deverus team will notify our partners via Admin Module In-App notifications on timeline and release dates.
