Within the Verocity system, you can create not only a pricing matrix per client or per client type, but you can also build additional fees into several different search types, so that the client sees these fees separately on their invoices (and understands them to be pass-through fees from the court, researcher, or provider). Several different search types can accommodate additional fees, including county criminal/civil searches, driving history reports (MVR's), education and employment verifications, and more. You must have the client or client type pricing set up to pass over these fees (found in pricing). You can choose to pass over these fees Globally for everything set up in your researcher network, or add special location pricing for each of these. If a search in a package is cancelled with pass through fees enabled, then the search fee for the cancelled search will still be included on the package price.

County / civil criminal search fees
You can set up fees for county and criminal searches from the researcher setup area. These fees are automatically added to the price you charge different clients for county searches, and they depend on which county is selected.
Navigate to Researchers > Configure Researcher Network.
For either County Criminal or County Civil searches, choose the state containing the county you wish to enter fees for.
When the screen refreshes, bring up the county for which you wish to assign a court fee, using one of these methods:
Click the View entire state button, then scroll to your county and click Details; -- or --
Choose the county from the second dropdown list and click View county.
At the bottom of the page, find the field labeled Criminal court fee to charge clients or Civil court fee to charge clients, enter the court fee, and click Update County Info.
Notice that court fees are independent of what researcher you use; any and all county civil/criminal researchers use the same court fees.
State criminal search Fees
You can add fees to the Next Day Criminal search provided in the system; this search is often renamed, but it allows you to create manual or instant searches on a state-by-state basis. You can add a separate fee to any state you desire, which will be added to the cost of ordering a search in that state.
Navigate to Researchers > Configure Researcher Network.
Under the Statewide Searches heading, find the second search (it's called Next Day Criminal Network, but it's often renamed), and click the GO button to the left of it.
Pick the state you wish to add a fee to, and click its name.
On the screen that comes up for the state, enter the additional fee amount in the Additional Fee To Charge Clients field. Also, make sure that the state is enabled (that is, the Enable [Search name] for [State Name] box is checked) so that clients can actually order searches in that state.
Click Save to save the fee.
Driving History Fees
You can set up fees at the state level for driving history searches (also known as motor vehicle records, or MVR's).
Navigate to Researchers > Configure Researcher Network.
Under the Reports heading, click the GO button next to the Driving History Report Network (it may be renamed, but it should be the second GO button under Reports).
Click the name of the state to which you wish to add a fee.
Enter the additional fee to be charged into the Additional Fee To Charge Clients field.
Click Save to save this fee.
Education and Employment Verification fees
Note: If you are utilizing National School Clearinghouse (NSC), all fees will be added automatically by the researcher.
Unlike the other searches that have additional fees, education and employment verifications do not get permanent fees assigned to them in the researcher setup. Instead, you enter fees for these searches on a case-by-case basis, as explained below.
Bring up the pending education or employment verification search for which you wish to enter results, including a fee, in the Report Finder or through one of the Pending reports under the Report Management tab.
Click the Enter Results link in the lower right. (Note that this link is only available if the search is still pending.)
As you are entering or verifying information, you'll see a link that says enter charge here, for both types of searches.
Once you click the link, you'll see a page to enter fees. Enter the fee and a description (which will appear as a note to researchers, client, and admins, as well as on the client's invoice), and click the Submit Results button below (of course, add any other necessary results first).
That's it! The fee will now appear in search notes and on the invoice.
