Q: Work Number - Status Code: 17221 - Multiple individuals may be associated with this SSN. |
A: This means there is more than one individual associated with that SSN in the Work Number Database. Work Number will only release specific employer data in this scenario and the exact employer code is needed. When hitting that queue, the search should be re-assigned to the next researcher that follows the process depending on researcher settings. After being re-assigned, the search will no longer be in the Needs Attention queue. In this case, it is best a manual researcher is assigned. This can be run through the Work Number Web Portal if you have the exact code needed.
Q: Work Number - Status - Employee not found in database Code:17004
A: This applicant's employment history not found in the work number database. In this case, it is best a manual researcher is assigned.
Q: Work Number - Status Code: 17333 - Employer not provided
A: This error code is related to Rhode Island; Work Number will send back any one of these message codes: 17331, 17332, 17333, or 17380, which indicate 1) verification of employment will only be allowed if the employee is currently active with the employer. If the employee is inactive with the employer, you will need to contact the employer directly, or 2) the Company Contact field must be filled in prior to sending the request to TWN.
Q: What happens if an Employer Code is required?
A: If there is a time in the process where the Employer Code is required, the integration will not send a code and the search will go into the Needs Attention queue. When hitting that queue, the search should be re-assigned to the next researcher that follows the process depending on researcher settings. After being re-assigned, the search will no longer be in the Needs Attention queue.
Q: Work Number - Status Code: 17003 - Employer is blocked. |
A: When an employer is blocked it means that the employer used to contribute their records to TWN but are no longer contributing. In this case, it is best a manual researcher is assigned.
Q: What will deverus charge the CRA for The Work Number searches?
A: Similar to The Work Number billing, the CRA will be charged by candidate (SSN).
$.25 for returned results and 1 match
$.50 for returned results and 2 or more matches
No charge incurred if no results are received
Q: When we are querying employers do we get all employers or just the ones we were asking for? Do we get everything under the SSN or do we submit separately and get billed for each?
A: When you submit a search to The Work Number, you will get all results for the SSN provided. The billing applies to one SSN.
Q: If results are found but do not match our request, will we be charged and do these fees autopopulate?
A: You will be charged a $.25 transaction fee for the results. The CRA chooses which searches go to The Work Number. In addition, you receive an added benefit by having all data for that applicant which can be stored in the Verifications database. Go to Report Management>Verification Database to access the data. The results data can be housed here for future use by your researchers.
Q: What if no results are found?
A: You will not be charged and the search will be re-routed to the default researcher or researcher group
Q: Does the results PDF show everything for that candidate or just for a specific employer?
A: The results PDF provides a full history for the candidate and is attached to the report. This is where we see some added benefit because you will see all results. It will be visible to the CRA but not the client. You can decide what you want to do with that information - discard it, keep it for future use, and/or share with the client. This data can be stored and used later to order more searches or used for future screenings for that same candidate.
Q: How will the Researcher fees work?
A: You will have the ability to include the fee so that it is automatically added when there is a results match. This feature will save time because you will no longer have to exception price each order. This is configured in the Researcher Network. Go to Employment Verification Network> Automated Researchers, select Edit Settings next to Work Number.
Q: How is The Work Number feature within deverus compliant with salaried restrictions? Does deverus hide salary for restrictive states?
A: We are not pulling in any salary data from The Work Number, only current and past employment history
Q: How are credentials handled? Can multiple users log in with their Work Number credentials?
A: Currently only one set of credentials can be used at one time. However, deverus will log which researcher is assigned and which user sent the search to The Work Number for tracking purposes.
Q: I have an issue with billing, who should I contact?
A: Please contact your direct account manager at Equifax.
Q: How do I charge extra for Work Number?
A: Currently the system is set up to apply a global fee for the service, for any search matched to the Work Number. If there is no match, no fee is pass through.
You will navigate to the Researcher Network to configure your fee. Say it is $17.00.
You have 5 employment histories come back, and you match 2 to actual searches. Those 2 searches will each have a $17 Work Number Fee added.
This is on top of regular package pricing or a la carte searches for EMPV.
Q: I love Work Number, but have some feedback. Who do I provide this to?
A: All feedback can be entered in support in the form of a ticket. Our team is logging and evaluating new items for the integration.
