deverus has released a new feature to simplify canceling and exception pricing multiple searches.

AKA Names Displayed

The AKA name for each search is displayed at the report level view to make it easier to determine which searches to keep and which to cancel.

Canceling Multiple Searches

You can select all searches or only the searches you wish to cancel. The next screen provides a detailed view of several options. Pass-thru and court fees are displayed in the "Additional Price" column.

By clicking "Searches Included" you can see which searches are part of a package. The "Current Price" column shows the price of each search. If it is part of a package, the package price will be reflected. A la carte search pricing is also displayed here. Selecting the "Don't Invoice" box will prevent the canceled searches from appearing on the client's invoice.

In this example, we are going to adjust only the AKAs run in Hays County, TX. Simply select the searches you wish to cancel and click the "Cancel Searches" button.

On the next screen, we entered a total exception price of $7.00 for each search and selected the "Cancel Searches" button. Note: the "Additional Price" column displays the current court fee of $5.00, and the "Current Price" column displays the a la carte cost of the search plus the court fee.

Now the "Prices" tab at the Report Level reflects the adjusted price for each search. Keep in mind these searches will not be invoiced because the "Don't Invoice" option was selected.

Search Level Exception Price

Searches can also be adjusted at the search level without canceling using the "Exception Price" link on the search.

You will see the same screen that allows you to adjust the "New Price" or "Additional Fees" to reflect the correct "Total Exception Price".

A confirmation screen will show you the total price and fees to the client.

If pass through fees are enabled for a package that contains searches with fees attached, and then the searches are cancelled, then the fees will still be counted towards the package price - but not shown on the invoice.

Change on Invoice

Reviewing the invoice for this report, we can see both the $5.00 additional fee and the total exception price charged to the client.
