Setting Package Limits

Packages and Bundles

The Verocity system features two ways to group together searches together to offer clients: packages and bundles.

Packages- a group of searches with a set price. Packages can have limits and a la carte pricing kicks in after limits are exceeded.

Bundles- A group of searches bundled together with no price. The price will be added up based on the client's a la carte pricing.

In this article we’ll be reviewing the system settings that enforce package minimums and maximums. Note: These settings do not apply to bundles (a la carte ordering)

Please see Creating Packages and Bundles for complete details on setting up packages and bundles at the global, client or client type level.

Limits

There are multiple settings under the client/client type ordering options that allow you to set package limits. Let’s review how each setting impacts package limits.

Setting: Enforce Package Ordering

Applies to: HR Module, Swifthire 1.0 with/without review/applicant pay, Swifthire Mobile with/without review/applicant pay

Image_2019-08-01_at_3.35.49_PM.png

*NOTE* This setting has been hardcoded to always enforce a minimum of 1 search in each package

Example: if a package contains 3 Employment Verification and 3 county searches and "Enforce package ordering" is enabled, at least one of each search type MUST be ordered. However, a maximum is not enforced and the order can be submitted with more than 3 of each search type.

For Swifthire Mobile ordering this means the applicant cannot proceed without entering AT LEAST one EMPV (Continue button disabled).

If no other settings are used to limit package quantities, the applicant can enter MORE than 3 EMPVs using the “Add Additional” button. All populated counties would also be ordered, even if the quantity exceeds 3.

*NOTE* The same logic applies for other auto-populated search types like federals, statewides, county civils and the other Verification search types like reference verifications, professional license verifications, education verifications that have the “Add Additional” option on the screen.

Setting: Restrict Auto Population Modifications

Applies to: HR Module, Swifthire 1.0 with/without review/applicant pay, Swifthire Mobile with review

When "Restrict Auto Population Modifications" is turned ON, the HR user cannot remove auto-populated search types such as counties and federals from the order. Turning ON this setting prevents the user from removing any searches that were auto-populated by the absence of the "Remove" button.

Setting: Enforce package limit by hiding "add" tabs

Applies to: HR Module, Swifthire 1.0 with/without review/applicant pay, Swifthire Mobile with review

Currently, "Enforce Package Limits" settings do not apply to SwiftHire and IM orders without review when ordering CRIMINAL searches. Verifications will be limited.

This setting originally enforced package maximums by hiding "add" tabs in the classic module and is considered "legacy". Despite being legacy, the setting enforces package maximums for HR Module, SH 1.0, and SH Mobile with review ordering.

The HR user will see a message “Updates Needed. Too Many Searches for Your Package” if they attempt to place the order with quantities that exceed package maximums.

When this setting is enabled, Swifthire Mobile prevents the applicant from entering more than the package maximum for search types that are not auto-populated (verifications, custom searches, search types that have an "Add Another" button in SHM). For example, in a package with 3 EMPVs after the applicant enters 3 EMPVs, the “Add Another Employer” button disappears.

*NOTE* At this time there is not a package limits setting to enforce an EXACT quantity of searches. In other words, if the package contains 3 REFV and this setting is enabled, the applicant can enter 1, 2, or 3 REFV's.

Another important thing to note is that enabling this setting will not affect the number of jurisdictions populated by the system for criminal searches like counties, statewides, and federals. This means that using 'Enforce package limit by hiding "add" tabs' with “Restrict Auto Population Modifications” could prevent the HR user from submitting orders or completing a Swifthire Mobile with Review if the system populates more searches than the package allows and the user is unable to remove populated search types.

When using Swifthire Mobile without review/applicant pay, it is possible to exceed package maximums for auto-populated search types like counties, statewides, and federals. Swifthire Mobile without review/applicant pay will order ALL populated jurisdictions, even if the quantities exceed package maximums. If exceeding maximums is a concern, the Swifthire Mobile with review process can be used.

Setting: Enforce package limit on the confirm screen (this should be used if you do not wish for the number of searches in the package to be exceeded)

Currently, "Enforce Package Limits" does not apply to SwiftHire and IM orders without review, when ordering CRIMINAL searches. Verifications will be limited.

Applies to: HR Module, Swifthire 1.0 with/without review/applicant pay, Swifthire Mobile, SwiftHire Mobile with review

This setting functions much the same way as "Enforce package limit by hiding "add" tabs" by enforcing package maximums. When enabled, the setting double-checks package limits at the order confirmation screen to ensure that a client has not ordered more searches than are contained within the package. That way, even if a Social Trace auto-population added more counties than permissible, the client would be forced at order time to remove excess searches.

The HR user will see a message “Updates Needed. Too Many Searches for Your Package” if they attempt to place the order with quantities that exceed package maximums.

Another important thing to note is that enabling this setting does not affect the number of jurisdictions populated by the system for criminal searches like counties, statewides, and federals. Therefore, using "Enforce package limit on the confirm screen" with “Restrict Auto Population Modifications” could prevent the HR user from submitting orders if the system populates more searches than the package allows and the user is unable to remove populated search types.
