The HR Module is where you place background screening orders and review applicant activity. This article gives you a tour of the main areas so you know where to find everything; for specific tasks like ordering a background check, or monitoring a report, see the linked articles along the way.

The Navigation Bar
The navigation bar runs across the top of every page. What you see depends on your account configuration and your user permissions, so your bar may not include every item described here. Most users will see Home, New Order, Reports, and Account.
Home — your dashboard and starting point (described below)
New Order — start a new background check. Depending on your account, this may open a menu of order types — such as Standard, Branch, or SwiftHire — or take you straight into an order. You'll only see this if your user has permission to place orders.
Reports — find every report you've ordered, whether in progress, completed, archived, or needing attention, and run screening statistics and activity reports
I-9 — manage electronic I-9 forms, track Section 1 and Section 2 status, and handle your E-Verify workflow. This appears only if I-9 is enabled for your account.
Account — manage your profile, password, users, accounting, pricing, and report delivery settings, if applicable.
To the right, the magnifying glass opens applicant search (see Finding Your Applicants, below)
The Home Dashboard
When you log in, the Home page opens to a dashboard summarizing your screening activity.
At the top, a welcome banner shows your account name and last login. Click New Background Check to start a standard order, or Take a tour for a guided walkthrough.
Report Snapshot
A row of cards gives at-a-glance counts for each report status. Click any card to drill into that group of reports:
In Progress — the applicant has one or more searches that are not yet complete
Completed — the applicant's background check is fully finished
Archived — completed applicants you've moved here once you no longer need to actively monitor them
Needs Attention — applicants with an unread status update or a request for additional information
Review Needed — applicants with a criminal record, an unverified school or employment record, or a positive drug test, etc
SwiftHire Mobile appears here too, but it isn't a report status like the others — it's a separate area for managing SwiftHire Mobile requests, where the applicant completes their own information. It has its own list and tools rather than behaving like the status bins above; see the SwiftHire articles for how it works.
Quick Actions
Below the cards, Quick Actions put the most common dashboard tasks one click away — ordering a new report, jumping to your In Progress or Completed lists, or opening your profile.

Finding Your Applicants and Reports
There are two ways to pull up an applicant, depending on whether you're after one specific person or want to see a whole group.
Search for a specific applicant
Click the magnifying glass in the navigation bar to open the search field, then start typing. The search recognizes matches as you type — you can search by name in any order — first or last name both work. Matching applicants appear in a list below the field; click one to jump straight to their report.
For a more targeted search, click the Advanced Search option. This opens a full set of filters where you can search by applicant details (name, SSN, date of birth), order details (search ID, client reference, order dates, search type, or package), and — if your account is set up for it — by branch, user, document type, or flag status. Only applicants matching all the criteria you enter are returned, so start broad and narrow down if you don't see who you're looking for.
Browse reports by status
If you'd rather browse an entire group of applicants by status, you can do so in two ways:
Click any card in the Report Snapshot to open that status group, or
Use the Reports tab in the navigation bar to go straight to either Subject Reports (your background check reports, organized by status) or SwiftHire Mobile Requests.
Both land on the same screen, which has a Subjects section (the status bins — In Progress, Completed, Needs Attention, Review Needed, Archived) and a separate SwiftHire Mobile section. From here you can sort and filter the list and open any individual report.
Once you've opened an applicant's report, you can review the results, print or email it, order more searches, re-screen the applicant, request a status, and add notes or documents.
